Thomson Wilks continues to grow its medico-law practice with addition of new associate Justine Paries

New associate Justine Paries is well on her way to building a fantastic medico-law practice advising insurers and healthcare professionals on policy, risk and medical negligence claims, says innovative South African-based law firm Thomson Wilks Inc.
Yesterday the firm revealed that Justine, who was admitted to the South African Bar in early 2025, had joined Thomson Wilks, adding further talent to its medical law, insurance, and litigation practices. In early June, the firm secured star medical law and insurance litigator Julia Penn as a Director for its Cape Town office.
Sharing the news of Justine’s hire, Julia says she feels “really fantastic and extremely lucky to have this absolute champion of an attorney” join the Thomson Wilks team.
Justine obtained her LLB from the University of Cape Town in 2022, where she also served as a member of the Student Governance Court. She also led various community outreach initiatives during her tenure as an executive member of SHAWCO and as a Service Director of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
“Her approach to legal practice is defined by meticulous attention to detail, practical problem-solving, and a commitment to understanding the complex intersection between law, insurance, and healthcare,” says the firm.
