Thiam & Associés welcomes back internationally experienced lawyer Ibrahima Diallo as an associate

Established in 2017, Conakry-based business law firm Thiam & Associés blends legal expertise with a commitment to African transformation. Yesterday, it announced that former trainee and corporate, banking, and finance lawyer Ibrahima Diallo has returned on a permanent basis after practising in Europe.

West African business law firm Thiam & Associés, which is based in Guinea and is a legal counsel firm in Côte d’Ivoire, has this week continued its founding principles of international expertise matched with passion for business law and Africa with the announcement that corporate lawyer Ibrahima Diallo has rejoined as an associate.

“Happy to be back home and continue this wonderful journey with Thiam & Associés, a leading firm renowned for its expertise and professionalism,” shared Ibrahima, who was most recently working for the Debt Finance team for leading international law firm White & Case in France. “Many thanks to our Deal Marker and Managing Partner Baba Hady Thiam and team for their trust.”

A former trainee at Thiam & Associés, Ibrahima is a talented young African lawyer who earned a law degree and a Master's degree in International and European Law from Université Toulouse 1 Capitole in France, along with a dual Master 2 in International and European Economic Relations Law from CY Cergy Paris Université and in Comparative Law - African Legal Systems from University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne. He also holds two postgraduate diplomas in International Economic Law in Africa (Paris-Pantheon-Assas University) and in Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency Law (University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne).

“Ibrahima has developed solid experience within leading companies and top-tier law firms, as well as through cross-border transactions,” said Thiam & Associés yesterday. “His practice covers corporate law, business law, corporate and project finance, and restructuring and insolvency, with particular expertise in the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors. We warmly welcome Ibrahima to the team.”

Like the founders of Thiam & Associés, who were African lawyers sharing a common passion for business law and Africa who had gained legal expertise in prestigious international law firms, early in his career, Ibrahima has notably worked within the Legal (Finance) Department of TotalEnergies, and completed internships in the Paris offices of international law firms White & Case LLP and Clifford Chance.

In November, the firm welcomed bilingual international corporate and M&A lawyer Claudette Feutheu, who is admitted in both Cameroon and France, and had worked over the past few years at leading global law firms DLA Piper and CMS, as well as France’s largest law firm, Fidal.

Firmly convinced that law is a strategic driver for development across the African continent, Thiam & Associés supports companies, public and private institutions, investment funds, and governments in navigating complex legal environments and realising their projects in a rapidly evolving Africa. The firm’s vision is to contribute to Africa’s transformation by providing innovative legal solutions that support sustainable growth and development across the continent.
