Pan African Lawyers Union reveals a dynamic, diverse, and regionally representative new Executive Council

Following the election of Tewodros Getachew as its new President at the 15th Pan African Lawyer Union (PALU) Annual Conference & Triennial General Assembly on Friday, PALU has introduced its entire leadership team for the next term
The Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU), has revealed its new Executive Council who will join newly elected President Tewodros Getachew Tulu in leading the organisation and the wider African legal profession forwards in the coming years.
“The new Executive Council of PALU brings together a dynamic, diverse, and regionally representative team of legal professionals committed to advancing justice, human rights, and the rule of law across Africa,” says PALU, the union for all African Bar Associations and the premier continental legal forum in Africa,
Ethiopian lawyer Tewodros Getachew Tulu, who is also the founding President of the Ethiopian Federal Bar Association, was elected as PALU’s new President during the final day of its Annual Conference & Triennial General Assembly in Cote d’Ivoire.
He is joined on the new Executive Council of PALU, for now, by eight other lawyers; four regional Vice-Presidents (Central Africa, Eastern Africa, Southern Africa, Western Africa), a Secretary General and Deputy Secretary-General, a Treasurer, and a Host Bar Representative. The Vice President - Northern Africa is still to be elected.
The current new Executive Council consists of:
President: Tewodros Getachew Tulu (Ethiopia)
Vice President – Central Africa: Dionro Djerandi (Chad)
Vice President – Eastern Africa: Adv. Nkundabarashi Moïse (Rwanda)
Vice President – Southern Africa: Womba Silumbu - Kankondo (Zambia)
Vice President – Western Africa: Koffi Sylvain Mensah Attoh (Togo)
Secretary General: Joyce Oduah FICMC (Nigeria)
Deputy Secretary General: Nadege Kimba (DR Congo)
Treasurer: Ntlai Eunice Masipa (South Africa)
Host Bar Representative (TLS): Boniface Anyisile Mwabukusi (Tanzania)
The newly elected leadership team reflects PALU’s commitment to gender inclusion, continental balance, and transformational leadership for the African legal profession.
