Shaping the future: Gerald Kiti passes baton to Oscar M Kariuki as Managing Partner of KKN Law 

New Managing Partner Oscar M Kariuki is an “exceptional lawyer” and “principled leader” who will lead KKN Law LLP Advocates to even greater heights, said founding partner Gerald Kiti, as he stepped down from the role he has held since the firm’s establishment in Nairobi in 2018, and the full-service boutique corporate and commercial law firm announced Kariuki’s elevation, effective 1 August 2026.

Leading KKN Law the past several years has been one of the greatest privileges of his career, shared Kiti on social media. “Together with my Partners, our exceptional team, and the unwavering trust of our clients, we have built a firm grounded in excellence, integrity, and service. Every milestone has been a shared achievement.”

Kiti said he was “deeply grateful to officially hand over the mantle” of Managing Partner to Kariuki, his friend, colleague, and fellow partner of the firm.

“I look forward to supporting the firm’s continued growth while cheering on Oscar and the entire KKN team as we write the next chapter,” said Kiti, before adding that the future of KKN Law LLP Advocates was in excellent hands.

“This marks the beginning of a new chapter, one I step into with deep gratitude, quiet confidence, and an unwavering sense of responsibility,” shared Kariuki. “I am truly humbled by the opportunity to serve as Managing Partner of KKN Law LLP and grateful to my fellow Partners for the trust they have placed in me.”

Leadership is not simply about holding a position, said Kariuki, but stewarding a shared vision, serving people with integrity, and creating the conditions for others to thrive. “The future is not something we wait for, it is something we shape through the choices we make, the standards we uphold and the legacy we leave.”

Under Kiti’s guidance, KKN Law has grown over the past several years into a trusted legal advisor in dispute resolution, real estate and corporate commercial law, while expanding its team, capabilities, and reputation, said the firm when announcing Kariuki’s elevation. Kiti will continue to serve as Founding Partner, providing strategic guidance as the Kenyan law firm advances its long-term vision.

A law graduate of the University of Nairobi, Kariuki began his career as a Legal Assistant at the Capital Markets Authority, before spending seven years at Muma & Kanjama Advocates in Nairobi after completing his Advocates Training Programme from the Kenya School of Law. He joined what is now KKN Law in 2024 as a partner.

Kariuki established and co-heads KKN Law’s Real Estate, Banking & Finance and Corporate & Commercial Departments. A distinguished real estate and commercial lawyer, he has extensive experience in complex property transactions, real estate development, secured lending, private wealth and estate planning, legal compliance and corporate governance. Also a recognised compliance and corporate governance specialist, Kariuki advises on enterprise risk management, legal and governance audits, policy development, and governance frameworks.

Established in 2018 as Kiti & Co in Nairobi, the firm became KKN Law LLP Advocates in 2024 with the addition of Kariuki and Lorraine A Ngugi as name partners.
