Rive & Co continues strong growth by opening Arusha office in collaboration with RSM Tanzania

Leading Tanzanian law firm Rive & Co, a member of the Alliott Global Alliance, has continued its strong growth of recent years with the launch of a new office in Arusha that also marks a powerful collaboration with RSM Tanzania, bringing legal and tax expertise under one roof.

Partnering with RSM Tanzania to create a new office in Arusha reflects a deliberate move towards integrated professional services “where legal, tax, and financial advisory come together to provide clients with holistic, practical, and commercially sound solutions”, says Shehzada Walli, Managing Partner of Rive & Co.

The synergy between Rive & Co and RSM Tanzania - bringing together legal expertise and tax/audit excellence under one roof - means clients can now enjoy seamless, all-in-one support from structuring and compliance to financial clarity and growth strategy, said Rive & Co, when sharing the news. This month’s celebratory launch event was also attended by Deogratius Shuma and Mathew Dismas, the Arusha Regional Manager and Assistant Manager of the Tanzania Revenue Authority.

Arusha is not just a city, but a gateway, notes Walli, of the northern Tanzanian hub that’s viewed internationally as a great base for Mount Kilimanjaro climbers and Serengeti safari enthusiasts, thanks to its location in the Great Rift Valley.

“A hub for tourism, international organisations, cross-border trade, and investment across East Africa. Many of our existing clients operate in and around Arusha, and being physically present allows us to serve them more efficiently, respond faster, and engage more meaningfully with the legal challenges unique to this region.”

The opening of the new Arusha office in collaboration with RSM Tanzania continues the strong growth and expansion for Rive & Co over the past couple of years.

A growing East African powerhouse. Rive & Co is a future-focused firm established in early 2024 when ABC Attorneys and Stallion Attorneys joined forces, then later that year expanded by bringing in Sepia Attorney and Associates in Zanzibar. With offices in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Dodoma, and Arusha, Rive & Co also has strong international networks through its membership in the Alliott Global Alliance, an elite coalition of legal and accounting experts in 230 firms in over 100 countries.

With a robust presence in vital economic hubs, founding partners Shehzada Walli and Sunday Ndamugoba have previously discussed with Africa Legal how Rive & Co is reshaping legal practice in Tanzania and is ready to cater to the diverse needs of clients, whether they’re multinational corporations, local businesses or individuals.

Last year, Rive & Co boosted its international expertise by adding multidisciplinary energy expert Dr David Mestres Ridge as a new partner, boosting the firm’s lineup of high-level experts in energy law, intellectual property, corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution, and investment advisory, who are also commercially-savvy strategic partners committed to client success.

“In today’s environment, clients do not just need lawyers,” says Walli, following the opening of the new office. “They need advisors who understand the full picture; risk, compliance, structuring, and growth.Arusha presents opportunity. Our presence brings proximity. Our partnership brings depth. We look forward to serving our clients in Northern Tanzania and contributing to the continued growth of the region.”
