Paris-based Nigerian international arbitration expert Tolu Obamuroh moves to fast-growing Paul Hastings LLP

The addition of premier international arbitration partners Tolu Obamuroh and Elizabeth Oger-Gross to the Paris office of Paul Hastings LLP further enhances its global arbitration and complex litigation capabilities, says the fast-growing firm. 

Obamuroh, a Nigerian lawyer based in Paris, was one of four African lawyers promoted to leading global firm White & Case’s global partnership from 1 January. His elevation was celebrated by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu late last year as “a powerful symbol of the vision of a Nigeria whose citizens lead and excel across disciplines, defined by merit, integrity, and global impact”. 

Now he and fellow former White & Case partner Elizabeth Oger-Gross have moved to Paul Hastings, a global law firm that was originally established in Los Angeles in 1951 as a boutique labour and employment law practice, became a national US firm over several decades, and has evolved into a global law firm during the 21st century.

One of the world’s fastest-growing global firms, in recent years Paul Hastings has doubled its revenue to $2.7 billion, and added more than 140 top partners as lateral hires from other leading firms. It operates from a highly integrated network of 24 offices across North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Obamuroh advises at the forefront of the intersection between African markets and the international legal market. With a strong range of work for global clients, his experience includes advising African States on matters such as two ICC and two ICSID arbitrations relating to a major construction project and in the energy and mining sectors, respectively. He and Oger-Gross are the latest prominent additions to an elite Paul Hastings Litigation Department that has expanded with nearly 50 top-tier partner hires across practice areas globally over the past four years.
