Leading Namibian firm WKH Inc enters a new chapter as Tshuka Luvindao steps into the role of Managing Director

With roots tracing back to 1949, Dr Weder, Kruger & Haikali Inc (WKH Inc) is a forward-looking Namibian law firm with more than 150 staff across offices in Windhoek, Ongwediva, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, and Grootfontein. Today, it announced that Tshuka Luvindao would lead the firm into the future

Former in-house counsel Tshuka Luvindao steps into the role of Managing Director of leading Namibian law firm WKH Inc today with “a deep understanding” of the firm, its people, and its clients, said the firm in an official statement this morning.

His journey, which has been shaped as much by determination as by opportunity, said the firm, reflects the same values of unity, integrity and excellence that define WKH Inc.

“Mr Luvindao brings with him over a decade of legal practice spanning corporate law, banking, mining, administrative law and financial services … We are confident that under his leadership WKH Inc will continue to grow from strength to strength.”

A law graduate of the University of Namibia, Luvindao is a Senior Litigation Attorney who also holds a Masters in Public Administration of Mines and Natural Resources, Mining and Mineral Engineering from the École des Mines de Paris.

He began his legal career with WKH Inc as a Candidate Attorney in January 2013, before serving as an in-house counsel at Old Mutual Namibia, a longstanding financial services company, for three and a half years. He rejoined WKH as a Senior Associate in 2019.

Promoted to Director in September 2022, Luvindao began serving as Co-Managing Director of WKH Inc last September. This week, longtime Managing Director André Swanepoel stepped down after more than two decades of dedicated leadership, handing over the reins to Luvindao as the firm enters its next chapter, today.

Swanepoel’s leadership helped shape the firm WKH Inc has become, said the firm as it announced its new leadership change. “His commitment to our people, his steadfast focus on placing clients at the heart of all we do, and his belief in building a firm grounded in unity, integrity and excellence have left an enduring legacy.”

Now, Luvindao steps into the sole role of Managing Partner. “We are proud to welcome him to this role, and excited for the future he will help build alongside our team. Congratulations, Mr Tshuka Luvindao. We look forward to the road ahead.”

Earlier in his career, Luvindao served as Chairman of the Commercial Law Committee of the Law Society of Namibia. Alongside his legal work at WKH Inc, he also currently serves as Trustee and Chair of the Namibia Infrastructure Equity Investment Fund, and as a Member of the Board of Directors of Project Hope.

Recently, Luvindao was nominated for the Powered By Africa Top 100 Most Influential Africans in Infrastructure.

“This recognition speaks less to any individual achievement than to the work happening across Namibia at the intersection of law, governance and infrastructure: strengthening the legal certainty on which investment depends, and building the governance frameworks that allow domestic institutional capital to flow into national development assets,” he shared at the time. “Africa will build more infrastructure in the coming decades than in the last century. It is a privilege to help lay its foundations: sound law, strong institutions, and capital deployed with integrity.”

Founded through a merger of leading legal practices with roots dating back to 1949 and rebranded in 2025 to reflect a modern, forward-looking legal identity, WKH Inc has a team of 16 directors, 19 associates, 12 conveyancers and 117 support personnel across its national operations. It provides guidance to both local and international clients on a broad range of legal and commercial matters, including litigation, labour law, commercial and corporate law, tax law, conveyancing, banking and finance, mining, energy, emerging oil and gas matters, infrastructure, and dispute resolution.
