Leading MENA firm Matouk Bassiouny welcomes Faten Anis as a Partner in its Finance and Projects practice group

With ten years of experience in Paris, one of the world’s most sophisticated legal hubs, new partner Faten Anis brings an unparalleled depth of international expertise to the African legal landscape and a wealth of international experience to Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy’s expanding regional footprint, said the firm this week.

Faten joins Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy as a Partner in the Finance and Projects practice group, following a distinguished career in the Structured Finance team of Paris-headquartered international firm Gide Loyrette Nouel, where she’s been involved in major multi-jurisdictional and local transactions across Europe and Africa. 

A graduate of the University of Cairo, with a Masters in Corporate Law and an MBA in Corporate Law and Management from the Université Paris II – Panthéon-Assas, Faten’s practice focuses on banking and financing transactions across Africa, including project finance, real estate finance, structured finance, corporate lending and debt restructuring, with particular expertise in infrastructure, energy, transport and real estate sectors. “We are confident that Faten’s arrival will further strengthen MBH’s capabilities to support our clients in their African endeavors and investments.”

A member of the Paris Bar and the Egyptian Bar, Faten advises lenders, including credit institutions, multilateral institutions, insurance companies, and debt funds, as well as borrowers such as SPVs, corporates, real estate companies, and investment funds, on a wide range of financing transactions.
