The promotion of talented young attorney Mikaella Bodeux to Senior Associate reflects her strong legal capability, professionalism, and commitment to her work in environmental and mining law alongside the valuable contribution she makes to the Warburton Attorneys team, said the boutique South African law firm yesterday.
“We are incredibly proud to see Mikaella take this next step in her career and look forward to the continued impact she will make in her new role,” said the firm.
A law and environmental science graduate of Rhodes University, Mikaella joined Warburton Attorneys as an associate in 2022, and provides specialist legal services to a range of clients in environmental and mining regulatory matters and disputes. While at Rhode University she was awarded the Brian Peckham Memorial Prize for best student in Environmental Law, and she later went on to complete an LLM in Public International Law (awarded with distinction) from Utrecht University in the Netherlands, with a specialisation in oceans, sustainability and the environment.
“I am so grateful to the mentors, colleagues, friends, and family who have supported and encouraged me throughout this journey,” shared Mikaella on social media when her promotion to Senior Associate was announced yesterday. “It is such a privilege to practise in a field of law that I am genuinely passionate about and to be doing the work I once prayed for. Here’s to continued growth, purpose, and impact.”
Since 2023, Mikaella has also served as the National Secretary of the Environmental Law Association of South Africa, a role which she says enables her “to contribute to the advancement of environmental law in South Africa and engage with a community of experts, academics, and practitioners in this dynamic field”.
