The elevation of talented lawyers Linnet Charangwa, Bridget Mahuni, and Cecil Mahara to the partnership of Muvingi & Mugadza Legal Practitioners, announced this week, demonstrates the future-focus and ongoing growth of the Harare-based firm that combines rich history with high-level local expertise, and international outlook.

On Wednesday, the firm, which was first established in 1982 by Prince Machaya - who would later go on to become Attorney-General of Zimbabwe - doubled the size of its partnership, with Linnet, Bridge, and Cecil all promoted from Associate Partner.

“We look forward to your continued growth as partners and to building, together, a stronger and more resilient firm,” shared Nobert Phiri, Senior Partner at Muvingi & Mugadza Legal Practitioners. “We also extend our sincere appreciation to our clients for their continued trust and support as our partnership expands.”

Linnet is an accomplished practitioner, Notary Public, and conveyancer, with extensive experience in estate administration, conveyancing, and family law. Bridget heads the Civil Litigation department at the firm, and also has extensive experience in corporate advisory, regulatory compliance, and governance matters. Cecil is a distinguished litigator and Head of the firm’s Labour and Criminal Law department.

“I am honoured… grateful for the trust placed in me by the firm, the mentorship that has shaped my journey, and the clients whose confidence continues to inspire excellence,” said Bridget when sharing her promotion this week, noting she was looking forward to deepening her impact through diligent and principled practice.

Linnet and Cecil likewise expressed gratitude for the ongoing support, trust, and guidance of colleagues, mentors, and clients throughout their journey to partnership. The trio of new partners are all looking forward to contributing to Muvingi & Mugadza Legal Practitioners continued growth and excellence.

A member of the Alliott Global Alliance, which has 240 firms operating in over 100 countries and is among Africa’s largest multidisciplinary alliances, Muvingi & Mugadza also this week announced the promotion of Takudzwa Mashingaidze to Senior Associate, along with the promotion of former intern Malik Chishuvo to Junior Associate, and welcomed Samkeliso Mangena to the firm as a Junior Associate.

“This milestone represents a significant progression in my professional journey, and I am profoundly grateful to the firm for the recognition and the confidence reposed in me through this appointment,” said Takudzwa this morning. “I view this advancement not merely as a title, but as a solemn responsibility to uphold the highest standards of diligence, integrity, and excellence in the practice of law.”

Takudzwa is a legal practitioner, conveyancer, and Notary Public, and key member of Muvingi & Mugadza Legal Practitioners’ Mining practice group, with significant experience advising clients on mining rights, regulatory compliance, joint ventures, and investment structures, particularly in Africa’s growing resource-rich markets.
