Burundi firm Rubeya & Co Advocates makes ‘meaningful upgrade’ by adding Landry Ninziza as a Senior Associate

The addition of Landry Ninziza as a Senior Associate marks “a meaningful upgrade” in the capabilities of DLA Piper Africa, Burundi (Rubeya and Co Advocates), strengthening the firm’s ability to deliver consistent, high-quality, and client-focused legal solutions across all mandates, said the leading Burundi law firm.

Based in Bujumbura, the largest city, main port, and economic hub of Burundi, Rubeya & Co Advocates was established in 2001 by Willy Rubeya, who is ranked as a Leading Partner by Legal 500, serves as Chair, and heads the finance and projects, employment, and real estate practices for the DLA Piper Africa member firm. 

Other firm leaders include Managing Partner Ida Djuma, Dr Ange-Dorine Irakoze, who is Head of Mining Sector at DLA Piper Africa, Burundi (Rubeya and Co Advocates), and Chrisostome Nsabimana who is Head of Litigation and Arbitration.

Landry is an advocate before the High Court of Bujumbura, with over seven years of experience in legal practice, and expertise in both advisory and litigation matters, with a focus on land, employment, corporate, and commercial law. A Masters in Law graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam, he has advised clients across a broad spectrum of sectors, including technology, privacy and data protection, international investment, intellectual property, and energy regulation. Landry’s multidisciplinary approach enables him to provide strategic, business-oriented legal solutions.

With a strong emphasis on transactional practice, he assists clients in anticipating, structuring, and resolving complex business challenges, says Rubeya & Co Advocates. Landry is actively engaged in corporate matters, including company formation, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.

Before joining Rubeya & Co Advocates, Landry was a junior partner at Alpha Justice Chambers. He has also been Country Head for engineering contractors Safe Power Limited, and served as a lecturer at Burundi universities.
