Ambitious new firm Abe & Asotie LP continues rapid growth with three new associates

In June, former University of Benin classmates Joshua Abe and Theokalus Asotie launched a new Lagos-based firm to excite the next generation of African lawyers. Rapid growth is underway as the firm has added three new associates in recent weeks
The addition this week of new associate Barnabas Madoghwe to Abe & Asotie LP continues the recently launched Lagos firm’s rapid growth under founders Joshua Abe and Theokalus Asotie, being the third new associate added in recent weeks.
Barnabas, who began with the firm yesterday after working with the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, will work with Abe & Asotie LP’s corporate governance, dispute resolution, and tax teams, having developed a keen interest and budding expertise in those areas. He has a First-Class Honours degree in Law from Bowen University
“We hope that his addition to the firm coupled with his strong research background, innovative mindset, and commitment to delivering practical [advice] will contribute greatly to the firm’s excellent legal service delivery,” says Abe & Asotie LP.
Barnabas is a Graduate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, and a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Abe & Asotie LP was officially launched in June by high-achieving former University of Benin law school classmates Joshua Abe and Theokalus Asotie, with big ambitions to grow the then four-lawyer firm into a large full-service African legal practice, with aims to be not simply a legal services provider, but “a growth enabler” for clients that would also passionately pursue positive societal influence.
Before Barnabas joined the new firm as an associate yesterday, the firm last week announced another new hire, welcoming Sanuade Kehinde Daniel to Abe & Asotie LP as an Associate. Kehinde has budding experience in dispute resolution practice and will work with Abe & Asotie LP’s commercial litigation and arbitration team.
“Kehinde promises commitment to delivering pragmatic and commercially-minded legal solutions to clients' needs and challenges, leveraging on his formative experience at Jackson Eti & Edu and his resolute drive for result and excellence.”
Earlier in August, Abe & Asotie LP welcomed Aderonke Lawal as an associate. The firm said Aderonke has a strong background in Corporate Law, Banking and Finance, as well as Business and Regulatory Advisory.
“Her experience spans high-value capital market transactions, legal due diligence, and advisory on complex transactions structure,” said the firm. “Aderonke brings to the firm a strong research ethic, a results-oriented mindset, and a commitment to delivering practical legal solutions in dynamic commercial environments.”
