ALN Kenya bolsters regional corporate law strength with appointment of Kevin Mutulis as a new partner

Founded in 1954, ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna is East Africa’s largest full-service law firm, and the first African firm to be licensed in the UAE. As Kenya has evolved and developed, so has the firm. To kickstart 2026, it has announced the promotion of senior associate Kevin Mutulis to partner.

The journey of Kevin Mutulis from joining ALN Kenya as a Principal Associate in January 2019 to seven years later being promoted to partner reflects the leading law firm’s belief that talent, when supported and empowered, becomes transformational, said Karim Anjarwalla, Senior Partner at ALN Kenya, and a Board Director of ALN.

Kevin’s promotion, announced on 9 January, is not only a personal milestone, but a reflection of the collaborative, people-first culture that defines the firm, added Karim.

“In Kevin, we see a partner who reflects the values we stand for: Pan-African in mindset, down to earth, practical, rigorous and determined, and with a deep understanding of risk and our clients’ commercial objectives,”

Kevin’s practice has a focus on regional mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial law, competition and regulatory matters, and he brings more than 15 years’ experience and a nuanced understanding of both global and African markets.

As Africa’s business landscape continues to evolve, multinational corporations and investors increasingly require legal partners with a deep grasp of the opportunities and risks that shape each jurisdiction. Over the years, Kevin has been closely involved in major assignments and is known for his ability to deliver strong legal, commercial, and advisory outcomes while building enduring relationships.

“I am grateful to be working with colleagues at ALN Kenya and across the ALN Alliance who have invested time, effort and support in my personal and professional growth,” said Kevin. “Being promoted to a partner is a moment of gratitude and trust, and professionally, it marks a transition to being a long-term steward of our clients’ interests and the firm’s legacy. I look forward to contributing to the strategic growth of the firm and the ALN alliance.”

Kevin’s appointment is a testament to ALN Kenya’s growth and its commitment to nurturing exceptional talent and leadership from within, says the firm.

As Africa’s business landscape continues to evolve and grow in complexity it also underscores ALN Kenya’s ongoing commitment to unlocking value for clients and supporting investments across the continent.

With deep expertise in regional mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial law, competition and regulatory matters, Kevin has played a pivotal role in delivering innovative and commercially grounded solutions to ALN Kenya’s clients.

“Kevin’s leadership, integrity, and collaborative approach will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our corporate expertise and deliver exceptional value to our clients across the region,” emphasises Dominic Rebelo, Partner & Head of Corporate Commercial at ALN Kenya.
