Through providing our community with relevant news and content, digital learning solutions and job opportunities, we were confident that growth of the platform and the number of users we were able to connect with would grow rapidly.
Our high hopes for the platform continue to be exceeded. More than 150,000 individuals from 43 different countries (35 African) have chosen to join our community and benefit from connecting with our services and, most importantly, each other.
During this difficult time, with the coronavirus pandemic impacting all our lives, it has become more important than ever for us to find ways to robustly defend and empower the communities we are part of and have created.
With this in mind, we would like to draw your attention to the steps we are taking to support and empower you as we strive together to overcome adversity and move forward.
- News and Insight
We have already published pandemic-specific content to support our community in their own response to the outbreak and will continue to do so.
As always, our content is absolutely free to read. In addition, we are providing links and direction to other free and useful pandemic-related resources we come across such as guides, portals and checklists from local and international law firms.

- Talk to us and each other
Africa Legal believes in open communication, sharing ideas and working together to build better opportunities for all. Social media continues to provide an invaluable platform to connect with others, regardless of where you are. It is where many of our community found us in the first place! Continue to engage, converse with your peers across the continent and don’t be afraid to ask for help if, and when, you need it.
Our inboxes, more than ever, remain open to our community. Please do share with us any concerns, thoughts, ambitions or projects which you feel deserve to be voiced to the rest of the Africa Legal community for mutual benefit. We can all be reached via admin@africa-legal.com
- Community research and surveys
Through our recently-launched research division, we have already showcased the power of channelling our community's voice towards some of the most pressing issues impacting the African legal industry. These include Diversity in the Mining Sector through our work with Hogan Lovells and our own Africa Legal Technology Survey 2019 in partnership with the Legal Innovation and Tech Fest.
We are now calling on our community to input into the 'Digital Community | Exploring Business Continuity during coronavirus' survey.
The findings of this survey will allow us to analyse and report on important data, shedding light on what the African business and law firm response to the coronavirus currently looks like and, more importantly, where the gaps and weaknesses exist particularly in relation to home working.
Sharing this insight with our community will allow law firms and their suppliers to make informed decisions as to what steps can be taken, adapted or stopped to ensure as little disruption as possible while we adapt to current realities.
- Digital Content Marketing
We have always strived to make our product solutions as accessible and affordable as possible so that the vast majority of our law firm and supplier audiences can embark on business development and growth projects with us.
These solutions have proven to be an extremely effective method to ensure continued customer engagement and brand-presence without the need for additional expenditure on in-person contact or travel.
In the current climate of restricted travel, and uncertainty about how long this will last, Africa Legal is providing free, bespoke content marketing consultations. We will provide advice on the measures firms can utilise to create or maintain a virtual global presence. To find out more email us on admin@africa-legal.com
In these very difficult times, we send all of our community a virtual hug. Thank you for your continued engagement as a member of the Africa Legal community.
