The Future of Mining

Africa Legal and international law firm, Hogan Lovells, are partnering to shine a spotlight on the most pressing challenges facing the future of the mining industry.

Through a series of reports across 2020, we will be exploring the key themes of diversity, technology and sustainability and how a focus on these issues can drive significant long-term benefit for the mining industry.

Our first report 'The Future of Mining | Diversity' will explore the current realities of mining companies' commitment to pursuing diversity of workforce through quotas and training programmes but also look to what future skills and initiatives are viewed as the most powerful drivers to achieving greater diversity in the industry. The research and report will also have a specific focus on women in the sector.

The ability for the research to make a positive impact and add most value will be strongly aligned to the size and depth of the respondent audience to the initial survey. We, therefore, encourage all of our readers in the mining sector to participate and complete our five-minute online survey.

The survey can be found here

We look forward to your input and launching this much-needed research in 2020.

The research is being supported by the following organisations:

Mining Industry Professionals Network Forum

The Mining Industry Professionals Network Forum is the new and fastest growing mining related community in the world and the industry's only spam-free, independently curated forum for intelligent conversations with mining thought-leaders. Professionals in and serving the mining industry worldwide are invited to join the Mining Industry Professionals Network.

International Women in Mining (IWIM)

IWiM’s mission – changing the world today for a more inclusive tomorrow

Our focus is to create and realise opportunities for our members and all women in the mining sector, and change the mining industry for the better for everyone everywhere.
