The two firms will work closely together to deepen their ties with current and potential clients and to share their knowledge of the African market. Gide will provide its offices, connections and extensive experience working in West and North Africa, principally in francophone countries, while Bowmans brings its complementary strengths in southern and eastern Africa, principally in English-speaking countries
Lawyers at both firms will now have multiple opportunities to collaborate and to increase their reach across the continent.
“This is a very exciting development,” commented Richard Harney, Bowmans senior partner: Kenya. “We have a long-standing relationship with Gide, which is a fellow Lex Mundi member, and have worked with their lawyers for a number of years. The co-operation agreement strengthens this relationship and will help us to better serve our clients in West and North Africa.”
“We have known the Bowmans team for more than a decade,” said Jean-François Levraud, managing partner of Gide. “We share the same values and professional excellence. We have a long history of successful joint assignments that have always benefited our clients. This next step in our cooperation will allow us to support our clients in their most complex pan-African transactions.”
