Murdock has ten years’ experience in the mining, infrastructure, and natural resources sector, with a focus on mining regulatory compliance, high court litigation and commercial law. She has extensive experience in conducting legal due diligence investigations on mining operations and assets, including dealing with commercial agreements, internal appeals, court proceedings and deeds in terms of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act and the Mining Titles Registration Act.

Over the years Murdock has assisted several large clients with a variety of complex legal matters in the mining, environmental and construction sector. She is also a qualified notary and conveyancer.

While developing her career at Hogan Lovells, Murdock worked alongside Warren Beech, CEO of Beech Veltman. “Chantal has the right experience and specialist skills that complement our team at Beech Veltman,” he commented. “I have always been struck by Chantal’s exceptional standard of work and am confident that her addition adds a tremendous amount of value to the team and to our clients.”

Murdock says she has a huge amount of respect and admiration for Warren and all that he has achieved during his career, and that joining the team at Beech Veltman aligns with her personal and professional aspirations.

“One of my key goals is to continue to develop my skill set with a better practical understanding of what happens on the ground,” Murdock explained. “I believe that joining Beech Veltman will give me the opportunity to do this and to further develop key relationships with clients by understanding the practical challenges they face on a daily basis. I have always aspired to become one of the best mining lawyers in the country, and I believe that the relevant, responsive and practical approach adopted by the firm will give me the edge to do so.”

Beech Veltman Inc. is a leading mining, natural resources and energy focused law firm, with a specialist team in mining, infrastructure and natural resources. For further information on the firm click here
