To ensure that the organization has adhered to the constitution and by-laws as well as the laws and regulations of the country. To ensure that organizational legal matters are managed properly, efficiently and that the relevant and respective stakeholders are given proper legal advice and guidance.
Assist the Director of Legal Affairs with execution of legal matters affecting the Company.
Liaise with external company secretary to obtain extracts and sealing of contracts.
Manage legal risks while taking advantage of opportunities.
Management of legal costs - maintain a view on all the costs incurred by the company with a view to reducing the same year on year.
Formulate, monitor and evaluate the implementation of work-plans related to the formulation of an enabling framework for litigation and contracting.
Provide legal advice and assistance to the all Company Departments. This includes advising on the changes in laws and regulations that affect the operations of the Company.
Prepare Legal opinions and legal interpretations on various matters as required including interpretation of court and arbitral rulings affecting the Company.
Spearhead a sound contract management process from contract preparation,negotiation, execution and archiving.
Monitor developments in relevant law and conduct legal research.
