Investors controlling more than $1 trillion in assets ready to look at Africa opportunities at AFSIC 2025

One month out from AFSIC 2025, to be held in London across 14-15 October, anticipation is growing for the leading annual Africa-focused investment conference. Successful pan-African investor Verdant Capital shares some of their experiences and insights of the African Investments Dashboard and investment landscape.
More than 1,500 senior-level attendees from institutional investors, private equity and venture capital funds, DFIs, family offices, and top African executives are set to gather in London next month for AFSIC – Investing in Africa, the premier event for Driving Investment and Business Growth Across the African Continent.
“AFSIC is highly focused on the matching of live investment opportunities,” says Rupert McCammon, founder and Managing Director of AFSIC. “Prior to the event, we will distribute our renowned Deal Book containing over 300+ investable African opportunities. Investors can engage directly with project promoters via the African Investments Dashboard, the continent’s leading digital platform for sourcing private sector deals, or through our user-friendly Event and Meeting App.”
Now in its 12th year, AFSIC connects Africa’s most promising businesses with global investors through industry-specific and insight-driven sessions, country-focused investment summits, exclusive networking sessions, and ever-popular "Meet the Investor" sessions designed to fast-track deal flow across the continent.
“The investment environment in Africa offers prospects for growth and development, propelled by demographic shifts, technological progress, and investments in infrastructure,” says Verdant Capital, a leading investment bank and investment manager operating on a pan-African basis that has used the African Investments Dashboard and is a returning sponsor for AFSIC – Investing in Africa 2025.
“From the viewpoint of microfinance, we have explored substantial opportunities in East Africa - Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania – as well as in West Africa, particularly in Nigeria and Ghana, and in Southern Africa – notably in Zambia and South Africa.”
Verdant Capital says it’s had an excellent experience with the African Investments Dashboard from the perspective of microfinance, as a pan-African investor engaging with microfinance institutions. “We have established connections with several microfinance leads with whom we are presently advancing funding discussions.”
Verdant Capital boasts offices in Johannesburg, Ebene, Accra, Harare, Kinshasa and Frankfurt, with transactions executed in more than 25 African countries.
With institutional investors controlling more than $1 trillion in assets under management confirmed to attend next month’s event, AFSIC has cemented its role as Africa’s leading investment gateway. There are several new elements in 2025:
AFSIC Deal Book: A comprehensive AFSIC Deal Book launched one month prior to the event highlighting many of Africa’s most attractive investment opportunities.
Quickfire 60-Second Snapshots: a new high-energy format where businesses pitch directly to investors at the start of each “Meet the Investor” session – designed to supercharge engagement and visibility.
Deal-Focused Sponsored Sessions: led by Manufacturing Africa and British International Investment, these sessions will feature investment-ready opportunities across sectors.
Natural Resources in the Spotlight: a panel discussion on critical minerals, spotlighting the sector’s potential.
Backed by major supporters such as British International Investment, World Bank and Proparco and a wide range of corporate sponsors, the 2025 AFSIC – Investing in Africa event promises to be the most impactful yet.
