Duke and Rawson is working on an exclusive basis with one of the premier firms in Africa on a recruitment drive for English and French qualified Projects lawyers.
The firm is headquartered in South Africa and has an established and expanding coverage of the continent, with a focus on the sub-Saharan region.
The Projects group advises on a large proportion of the headline deals in the African energy, mining, oil and gas, and utilities market, and is able to offer advice on the full suite of acquisition, development and financing elements.
In addition to its core Africa work, the team advises on projects in Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific and is a partner to leading UK/US firms looking for specialist advice for their clients doing business in Africa.
Clients are typically project sponsors, lenders, or the owners themselves, and the firm has close links with public sector bodies meaning that it is well placed to advise on the global regulatory regime in order to make transactions run smoothly.
At present, the team is looking to recruit French or English qualified lawyers into the team. Candidates will have experience of working on projects in Francophone Africa, and French speakers are of particular interest.
The firm is looking to offer attractive terms to candidates moving from international firms in London, Paris, or other jurisdictions, and will look to pay at competitive rates in addition to offering the opportunity to work remotely (i.e. without having to relocate to South Africa) or to relocate via one of their more exotic offshore offices.
There is the budget and business need to recruit at least two need associates or senior associates into the team, and the firm is keen to hear from interested candidates.
