Investec Property Fund Limited is looking for an experienced Head of Legal and Risk. This individual will have complete oversight of all legal and risk functions across the South African, European and Australian business, in line with the JSE requirements. The role fundamentally provides legal advice and support with all transaction-related documents for existing and potential deals.

Result

• Legal advice and support with all transaction-related documents for existing and potential deals including but not limited to; MOI, shareholders' agreements, expressions of interest, memoranda of understanding, non-disclosure agreements, offer documents, security documentation, share purchase agreements, subscription agreements, term sheets, loan and funding agreements, drawdown notices, Property agreements - SPA

• Manage litigation

• Manage competition analysis and filings

• Oversight of compliance and risk functions

• Legal project management

• Managing external attorneys

• Assistance with legal due diligence for transactions

• Assisting Cosec where necessary with the drafting of more complex/transaction related resolutions

Experience, skill and capability

• Legal Degree

• Minimum 7- 10 years' experience in practice

• Exposure and experience in the following types of transactions: private equity, debt funding, M&A and disposals

• Experience in reviewing and negotiating the legal documents referred to above

• Strong negotiation skills

• Excellent project management skills for the legal workstream related to transactions

• Ability to work under pressure
