    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Knowledge lawyer with experience in employment law to support the Employment law team. Interested candidates should be passionate about the law, have excellent technical knowledge and experience in employment law, and strong communication skills. Prior experience as a Knowledge Lawyer is preferred but not essential.

     

    Purpose summary

    Responsible for implementing the knowledge and learning strategy for the firm, the aim of which is to leverage the firm’s professional knowledge and expertise for the purpose of gaining competitive advantage, improving performance and client service quality, as well as to generate new business and decrease risk.

     

    Job description

    • Advise fee earners on available precedents, templates, other know-how and research materials.
    • Provide technical legal input into training programmes, including training delivered by external providers, with a view to developing expertise of fee earners.
    • Facilitate and/or deliver training in areas of legal expertise, as appropriate. Assist subject matter experts in the preparation and delivery of training.
    • Draft and keep updated standard form precedents and other know how (as required).
    • Prepare and be responsible for internal know-how alerts to fee-earners on new developments and raising awareness of new knowhow content available.
    • Use current awareness and legal knowledge to contribute ideas and prepare content for externally facing alerts, newsletters and other marketing publications or client seminars, as appropriate in collaboration with the Business Development, Marketing and Communications team.
    • Keep abreast of relevant legal and market developments and advise relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
    • Work with relevant stakeholders to automate standard precedents and templates.
    • Work with the Legal Services Centre to identify opportunities to enhance legal services delivery to improve efficiency and market competitiveness by using LPM and/or legal technology.
    • Maintain and develop know how collections of relevant and up to date materials and liaising with stakeholders to contribute as necessary.
    • Provide advice on legal issues and assist with the formation of “house views” on points of law.
    • Use legal knowledge to support the development of new services and products as required.
