Cognia Law offers an alternative to candidates who want to experience a different side of law. The successful candidates will be part of a team based in Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to lead a team that will support a variety of transactional and non-transactional Commercial Real Estate matters. You will essentially act as an extension of our client’s legal team.
Law degree from a top UK/ EU based tertiary institution
5+ years’ UK commercial property law experience at a law firm recognised for its property practice;
Highly skilled in drafting and negotiating property management documentation
Experience leading and developing a team of junior lawyers and paralegals
Solid background in due diligence, acquisitions, development, asset/property/portfolio management and disposals;
Languages: English – spoken and written (required)

Able to work both independently and as an integral part of a team
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Developed skills in legal drafting
Commercial, proactive and business-like mind-set
A good grasp of Microsoft Office applications
