Advising clients on medical malpractice claims and issues
Drafting opinions, conducting research and advising clients on relevant legal principles and procedural/statutory frameworks
Advising medical scheme members on rights in respect of benefits
Advising healthcare professionals on the relevant statutory frameworks (including the rules and regulations regarding practice and ethics)
Representing clients in their dealings with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
Advising on compliance with numerous Acts and regulations
An experienced lawyer with 1-3 years Post Qualification Experience (PQE)
Must have medical negligence or personal injury experience
Has good knowledge of medical malpractice and can apply it to factual issues
Keeps up to date with relevant developments in the law and the practice area and understands impact
Can distinguish between legal and commercial issues
Must come from a reputable South African or international law firm or healthcare/pharmaceutical organisation
Preference will be given to EE/AA candidates.
